At Silicon Creation Batu Kawan, environmental sustainability is a core part of our ESG commitment and a guiding principle in how we operate. We strive to minimize our environmental footprint through responsible energy management, efficient resource usage, and continuous improvement in our processes. By integrating these practices into our daily operations, we not only reduce carbon emissions and conserve natural resources but also contribute positively to the surrounding community and ecosystem. The following key indicators highlight the measurable outcomes of our environmental initiatives.

Contribution

Coal Saved: 16.05 tonnes

Coal is one of the most carbon-intensive fuels. Saving 16.05 tonnes of coal means our operations used less energy from coal-based electricity, or improved efficiency that avoided the need for extra coal to be burned.

CO₂ Avoided: 19.06 tonnes

CO₂ avoided refers to the amount of carbon dioxide not released into the atmosphere because of our environmental measures (e.g., improved efficiency, reduced electricity use, or cleaner processes).

Equivalent Trees Planted: 27 trees

Trees naturally absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere.
By reducing our emissions, we achieved the same environmental benefit as planting 27 mature trees.

Solar Energy Performance Overview

Year 2024

In 2024, our solar PV system generated a total of 17.61 MWh of electricity. Out of this, 11.12 MWh (about 63%) was used directly onsite to power our operations, while 6.49 MWh (around 37%) was exported back to the electricity grid. Overall, solar energy supplied over 60% of our total consumption of 18.30 MWh, significantly reducing our reliance on grid electricity and lowering our carbon footprint.

Year 2023

During 2023, the solar system produced 7.22 MWh of electricity. Of this, 4.62 MWh (64%) was consumed onsite, and 2.59 MWh (36%) was fed back to the grid. The total electricity consumption was 7.49 MWh, with solar energy covering about 62% of this demand. This demonstrates the early positive impact of our renewable energy efforts.

Progress and Commitment

Between 2023 and 2024, solar energy production and consumption nearly doubled, showing our continuous improvement in utilizing clean energy. This supports our commitment to sustainability by reducing fossil fuel dependence and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2025, Silicon Creation carried out two recycling activities as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The first recycling activity was conducted in February 2025, involving electronic items, cartons, metal, and plastic, generating recycling proceeds of RM101.15.

These recycling initiatives help reduce waste sent to landfills, promote responsible waste management, and support the efficient use of resources, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
